Hello, I am Jenny Fu. I was born in Taiwan and grew up there. After finishing my college, I came to the United States of America to pursue my dreams for psychology.

Getting a Master degree was not easy. Living in a foreign country and speaking a foreign language were even harder. While giving my best to accomplish what I came for, I soon suffered from anxiety and depression. My family and friends did not totally believe my struggles, because I was still getting As at school and functioning well in general. However, what they did not know was the internal turmoils, the fears of failure, disappointing others, and abandonment.

After working with my therapist, I was able to look back at my life and learn the roots of my anxiety and depression, how my childhood and growing up experiences shape my values and choice of actions. Recognizing the losses and unfulfilled desires helped me to grieve and understand why I reacted the way I did.

This self-awareness has not only facilitated my healing but also deepened my understanding of the intricate interplay between our past and present selves. My experiences have reinforced the importance of empathy and compassion, both for myself and others navigating their own hidden battles. It’s been a journey of self-discovery which empowers me to live a life I truly appreciate and enjoy. I finally find the peace of loving myself and others!
